Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School - Pandori Khazoor

Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School runs under the aegis of Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society. Established in the year 1998 is located in an eco-friendly environment spanning over 5 acres of land.

Affiliated to CBSE New Delhi it is one of the leading schools in imparting quality education in the Hoshiarpur district with a present strength of over 2412 students from 110 villages and the Hoshiarpur city.

The school has classes from Nur to Grade 12 offering Medical, Non- medical and commerce streams in the sr. sec. section.

To cope up with the new trends in education, the school has a big library, two computer labs, three science labs, music room, art room, sports room and a conference hall. The school building is under electronic surveillance. Smart boards are being installed.

Academics: School has been achieving 100% results in the board exams. Students and teachers regularly participate in various Personality development programmes organized in the school through various agencies. The school organizes field trips for the students to complete project work under the CCE scheme and to sensitize them towards the environmental and social problems.

In collaboration with International Sikh Confederation, free coaching classes are being organized for Grades 11 and 12 to prepare them for the competitive exams.

The students have secured high position in the various Olympiads.

Sports: Brimming with good fighting spirit, school has been performing exceedingly well in the sports by bagging the district championship. The school bagged overall championship in the 16th rural primary school games and secured overall second position in Athletics and overall second position in Kho-Kho in the 16th Sri Guru Harkrishan Public Schools Tournament organized by EC- CKDCS.

Moral and Sikh Values: To inculcate moral and Sikh values amongst the students, regular classes are held for better understanding of the Sikh scriptures and, recitation of Gurbani with emphasis being on the pronunciation (santhya). Lectures by prominent Sikh personalities are organized. In collaboration with Sikhs Helping Sikhs, free literature is provided to the students and some 600 students and teachers have started ‘Sehaj Path’. This motivation resulted into a number of students partaking of Amrit.

Holistic Development: Inter House quiz, poster making, shabad Gyan and various other competitions are arranged for the all round development of the children. Gurupurbs and other important events are celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Building Addition: Building addition is in process wherein 10 more classrooms keeping in view the increasing student strength are being constructed. Sports grounds and cycle shed is being developed. The school has being given a new and green look by landscaping done by the students. The school boundary wall has been completed.
