Vikas Vidyalaya

Formerly Known as VIKAS VIDYALAYA, Ranchi.

The School is situated on the Ranchi-Patna Highway at a distance of 15 Kms from the Railway Station, 35 Kms from Ramgarh Railway Station and 20 Kms from the Airport.

The School is an estate of around 200 acres in area, of which more than 50 acres are occupied by the School Complex consisting of a three-storey Academic Block, Science Laboratories, Workshops, Hobby Centres, Library & Art Block, Four Boarding Houses, Central Dining Hall, Hospital, Temple, Gymnasium Hall-Auditorium, Swimming Pool, Rifle Shooting Range, an Open Air Theatre etc.

There are a number of games fields for Football, Hockey, Cricket, Basket Ball, Hand Ball, Volley Ball, Lawn Tennis Courts and an Athletics track for Sports.

There is a well - laid out Orchard, Vegetables garden, a Farm and a Dairy attached to the School, which provide fruits, vegetables and milk for the boys.

The School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi, for All India Secondary School and Senior School Certificate Examinations.

It has classes from 4th to 12th. The All India Secondary School Examination is taken at the end of Class X, and the Senior School Certificate Examination at the end of class XII. Syllabus of the C.B.S.E., Delhi is followed in Classes 9,10,11 & 12, while in classes 4th to 8th, syllabus and books prescribed by C.B.S.E. and N.C.E.R.T. are followed.

The School has all the three wings of N.C.C.—Army, Air & Naval. Attending the N.C.C. Annual Training Camp and other courses conducted by the N.C.C. Directorate, are compulsory for the N.C.C. Cadets.
