Amudham Matriculation Higher Secondary School

Amudham Matriculation Higher Secondary School is the brain child of the freedom fighter, Thiyagi D.Dharmakkaan and his affectionate wife Mrs. D. Amirtham. They themselves were teachers and served the community in the very remote place called Kannirajapuram, a coastal village in Ramnad district, where they choose to live and serve for the upliftment of the under privileged and uneducated. This burning compassion and concern for the downtrodden was seen throughout their life and all the time they were cheerful and did all in their power with eagerness without a tint of remorse.

It was their lofty aim that quality education should reach every individual child. Navajeevan Educational and Awareness Trust (NEAT) in order to honor their sacrificial service to humanity and to fulfill their greatest desire for catering education to everyone, apart from its social activities, widened its horizons by establishing this institution ‘Amudham Matriculation Higher Secondary School’ in Perungudi in the year 1998. It had a humble beginning and now the growth of ‘Amudham’ is something remarkable in achieving the ideals for which it was instituted.
