Transforming potentials into reality...

OUR MISSION

'Service before Self', the motto of Kashmir Harvard  is a reflection of its ethos and a desire to usher in a new era of knowledge with a belief that every child, however different has the right to education.

A mission to give equal opportunities to each stakeholder for personal growth through 'value added' education.

A mission to arm the students with special skills to enable them to be successful in every sphere of life.

A mission to make each child into a wholesome human being, who will essentially believe and work towards 'Service before Self'.

A mission to be an integral part of the community - reaching out to every part of it and enriching it in our own special way.

Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute is the English medium Co-Educational school affiliated to J&K Board of School Education and to be affiliated to the Central Board of School Education.

At Harvard, Ethics & moral education is imparted to students on regular basis to promote their behaviour of conscience. Care and caution is applied in promoting the proficiency of English Speaking. We believe in keen participation and actual performance

We teach our children how to think and not what to think. All experiences are drawn from the real world. Each precious individual will comfortably create his/her own niche, will discover talents, nurture skills, find his/her forte and most importantly will be groomed to become life long learner.

The school has a capable and committed teaching staff that believes that effective learning can only take place if there is a harmonious partnership between the home and school.

Creating a Respectful and Peaceful School

Our students are very respectful.  This leads to a peaceful school climate.  Visitors to our school will frequently notice students demonstrating respectful mannerisms, greeting adults in our building and being courteous. As well, our building conveys a sense of warmth, generosity and enthusiasm as children, parents and staff are eager to smile and make all those who enter our school feel welcome.

Student Academic Success/Pride

We are committed to providing a safe, positive learning environment for our students. Our motto, Working Hard to Be Our Best!uggests an important element of education. It reflects the effort we encourage each of our students to put into his or her learning.

We take pride in working hard to motivate each student to do his or her best. Our Staff is also dedicated to doing their best. Working together with students and parents, we strive to ensure that each individual student has the opportunity to develop to their full potential.

Community Engagement/Forging Strong Bonds

We believe in strong communication between the home and the school. Classroom newsletters, phone calls, home visits and meeting and greeting parents within our building are ways that teachers communicate with families.

Early Childhood Education

We promote a solid foundation to early learning through our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programming.

At Kashmir Harvard, children are seen as capable learners who construct their learning rather than have constant instruction. Their learning environment becomes an additional teacher.

House System

A promise to discover the genius in you...

The school is divided into four ‘Houses’ LIDWAS, ZABARWAN, NUNKUN & HARMUKH at the Primary, Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary level. Each House has a HouseMaster, Assistant House Master and a House Captain. It is compulsory for every student to be a  member of a House. The main idea of the House System is to provide training in qualities of leadership, co-operation, mutual understanding and self reliance. Different type of activities are organized under the House System such as dramatics, elocution, quiz, recitation, debate, group song and dance. Besides, the students are trained in community service and social work

The House System is a traditional feature of Kashmir Harvard School. Historically it was associated with schools, where a house referred to a boarding house or student house of a boarding school. In the case of Kashmir Harvard it refers to a group of students, rather than to a particular building.

The House System exists mainly for the purpose of healthy competition, based around the philosophy of inclusion and team work. There is a growing number of varied competitions and they have House points connected to them. These points are accumulated throughout the year to produce an overall winning House.

When children reach the age of 8, currently Form III, girls and boys are therefore divided into Houses LIDWAS, ZABARWAN, NUNKUN ANDHARMUKH. The tradition extends to the children of former pupils and families usually belong to the same House.

An important feature of this system is the election of Year Captains and Vice-Captains. These students are chosen by their classmates, their teachers and the PE teachers. The job of these students is mainly to gather the rest of the House-members and help in the organization of the different Interhouse events.

In the Senior School, each member of the teaching and non-teaching staff is also assigned to a House. They may already have a House if they are former students or they can inherit a House from their children (if they attend the School). In any other case, they will be given a House when entering the School. Two members of each House undertake the responsibility to lead the Houses and help in the organization of different competitions.
