The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Mizoram (IUM) is a Private University which is one amongst the many universities established by Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University (ICFAI). The university specialises in education of business administration, computer applications and hospitality and tourism management. ICFAI, Mizoram has been established under the provisions of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University (ICFAI), Mizoram Act 2006 dated 19.10.2006. IUM is sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI), a not-for-profit educational society established in 1984 under the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Public Societies Registration Act. IUM has been especially established for imparting training in finance and management to students, working executives and professionals in India. The University is competent to award Degrees as specified by UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act. The headquarters of the University is at Durtllang North, Aizawl, Mizoram. The University campus is spread across nearly 17.58 acres of land with built-up area of 43,000 sq.ft. The University is a member of Federation of Universities (FedUni), India and a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities, UK. The University has classrooms well equipped with latest audio-visual equipment, LCD Projector. The campus is well equipped with water harvesting and modern filtration system.
How to reach Aizawl
By Air - One can reach Aizawl by air from Kolkata (1hr 45 minutes), Guwahati (40 minutes) and Imphal (30 minutes).
By Road - NH 54 connects Aizawl with the rest of the country through Silchar. State run buses may take 6-8 hrs from Silchar to reach Aizwal.
By Rail - Silchar in Assam is the nearest railway station located about 184 km away from Aizwal.

Library – The library has over 12500 books and 40 journals /magazines.
Internet – The University has a 2Mbps internet connection.
Computer Laboratory - The laboratory is equipped with a broadband internet connection monitored by a server with latest software. It is equipped with 60 workstations.
BHTM Practical Rooms - The University has set up laboratories for food production, house-keeping and front office. These have been specially developed to provide practical experience in the hospitality field.
Soft Skills / Language Laboratory - The University Language consist of dedicated hardware and software designed for language training. The laboratory has 20 student terminals and one instructor’s terminal with voice input and output equipment.
Sports and Recreational Facilities - The University provides recreational facilities for indoor sports like table tennis and carrom board. There is also a basketball court and facilities for cricket and football. Various clubs have been formed for activities like dance and photography.
Co-Curricular Activities – The University offers various co-curricular activities for the students.
Some of these are:
Seminars - IU Mizoram conducts seminars in association with industry associations like Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on industry relevant topics.
Guest Lectures – Various guest lectures are given by industry personnel to IU Mizoram students so that the students can understand the corporate perspectives.
Summer Internship Program - The program is undertaken after the second and fourth semester of each UG program and after Semester II for the MBA Program. Summer Internship Program is faculty-supervised. The program provides simulation of the real work environment and enables students to face challenging situations.
Industry Interaction - The University organises summer projects, internship, industry interaction programs, seminars etc. These are conducted to encourage industry interaction with a wide cross-section of professionals in the industry. These are organized in association with the industry and equip students with organizational, communication skills, analytical abilities and awareness of contemporary issues.
Power Backup – To supplement the University’s power back up facilities there are two 10 KVA Online UPS, apart from two back-up power generators.
Auditorium – It has capacity of seating 300 persons.
Alumni Society - The University has established an Alumni Society whose provisional membership entitles the students to participate in seminars, workshops, conferences and local chapter activities organized by the society.
