Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) is established by the Government of Kerala in December 2010. It provides education, research and extension services in the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. The territorial jurisdiction of the university extends to the whole of the State of Kerala. There are three constituent colleges to the university namely College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at Mannuthy, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at Pookot and College of Dairy Science and Technology at Mannuthy.

Library Facilities - The University library provides cutting-edge facilities and services to students and faculty to support research, teaching, learning and scholarly communication across disciplines. It has good accommodation and excellent infrastructural facilities. It provides access to various national, international journals and periodicals in addition to an excellent collection of textbooks and reference books.
Learning Support Facilities - The University has ambitious plans to forge public private partnership in enhancing academic, research and entrepreneurship activities. The University is pleased to invite scholarships, endowments and support from industries, alumini, universities, trusts, foundations and other organizations.
Lab Facilities - There is Central Instruments laboratory is the central facility with state-of-the art analytical instruments to fulfil the needs of the faculty and research scholars in the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Kerala University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, Trichur. It is well equipped with high value sophisticated instruments. The facilities are extensively used by Post Graduate Students, Doctoral Research Scholars and Sponsored Projects for Advanced Research.
Counselling and Placement Facilities - There is a full-fledged student counselling and placement centre in the university. It is involved in various types of activities which include arranging counselling sessions for students and career oriented and educational consultancy programmes.

International Collaborations - The University has collaboration with Edinborough University Initiated. It is as a part of Internationalizing Higher Education Programme of the British Council, the KVASU and Royal (Dick), School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh, had jointly submitted a project under the “Knowledge Economy Partnership - 2011” for the sustainable academic partnership between the two institutions.
