National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) (earlier National Institute of Advanced Legal Studies) is a uni-disciplinary university in Kochi, India for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate legal education. The National University of Advanced Legal Studies was established by the National University of Advanced Legal Studies Act, 2005 which merged the erstwhile National Institute for Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS), earlier established and managed by the Bar Council of Kerala and Bar Council of Kerala Trust. Cochin, locally known as Kochi, was found to be the ideal location to set up the first national law school in Kerala since it is the seat of the High Court of Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Hostel Facilities - The University campus is situated at Kinfra Hi-Tech Park, Kalamassery, H.M.T. Colony P.O and started function of the 2011-2012 Academic year. The new campus has two hostel blocks – one each for boys and girls. Besides the triple occupancy rooms, each hostel has a common room, dining hall, kitchen and facilities for indoor games. The hostels have mess facilities which being managed by a ‘mess committee’ comprising of inmates.
Library Facilities - The University library has a collection of over 7,300 volumes covering a wide range of general and special subjects consisting of text books reference books, back volumes of journals, reports etc. The library subscribes to several leading law journals, both Indian and foreign and also a number of newspapers and magazines. It has acquired the complete set of leading law reports like All England Law Reports, Supreme Court Cases, All India Reporter, Criminal Law Journal, Kerala Law Times.
Net Facilities - The NUALS provides a campus wide wireless network for the student community. The academic block is equipped with wireless coverage which can cater to the requirements of the entire student community. There is also a computer lab for the exclusive use of the students. Facilities for taking printouts and photocopies are also provided to the student community. Every classroom is facilitated with an LCD projector. The University auditorium in the new campus will be fully equipped with audio visual systems.
