Himalayan University (HU) is a Private State University established by Jeen Foundation , New Delhi, a Non-Profit organization involved in the field of education. One of the Directors of the foundation Mr. Hemant Kumar Goyal founded the University. With his efforts, HU was eventually established in the year 2013 by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh as per Section 2(f) of UGC Act 1956. Himalayan University is recognized by the UGC - University Grants Commission under Section - 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and hence empowered to impart higher education at all different levels be it undergraduate or post graduate. HU was established to boost the education system while offering new methods of imparting higher education. The university offers almost all the course in various disciplines from engineering, marketing, medical, media, pharmacy, education, law, nursing, agriculture, pharmacy and many more.
HU Recognitions and Approvals
1. Himalayan University is recognised by Bar Council of India (BCI) which enables the University to offer Legal Degrees, thereby making it, the first University to introduce integrated Law programs in the state of Arunachal Pradesh
2. Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) has also approved Himalayan University allowing it to confer B.Ed degree in Special Education. This too makes Himalayan University, the first University of India to introduce RCI programs in the State of Arunachal Pradesh under the objective of serving the Rehabilitation sector of the nation
3. Himalayan University is approved by Pharmacy Council of India(PCI), that permits the University to offer Pharmaceutical Sciences degree programs at all levels of Under-graduate and Post-graduate
4. Engineering and Technical courses of Himalayan University are duly approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which are offered at diverse academic levels.
5. HU is a member of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)
6. Himalayan University is a member of All India Management Association (AIMA) which aims to nurture opportunities in the field of management.
7. Himalayan University is a member of PHD Chamber as one of the esteemed Organization that majorly worked on the up-gradation of industry, trade and entrepreneurship
8. Himalayan University is a corporate Associate Member of ASSOCHAM under the vision of uplifting the Trade, Commerce and Industrial Environment of the country while linkage with top notch business segments at domestic and international level
9. Himalayan University has also been accredited by International Standards of Accreditation (IAO) that assures the quality and standard of Himalayan University while imparting Higher Education at all levels of Under-graduate and Post-graduate.
10. Himalayan University has been assessed and approved in accordance with the guidelines of ISO 9001:2008.

Pre University Education – The University offers education which is equivalent to the X, XI and XII standards. The university conducts Pre University courses in all major disciplines including Arts, Science and Commerce streams.
Collaborations - AIU serves as a common platform to Indian and foreign universities for fostering necessary promotion and up-gradation in the fields of higher education, culture, sports, and allied areas, especially by way of exchanging information and co-operation.

Training and Placement Cell - The cell provides best opportunity to the students in respect of their career and professionalism. Himalayan University has a strong tie-ups with MCXSX; one of the highly demandable and successful nodes of Indian premium commodities and stock equities. Entrepreneurship Development Cell - The University also has an Entrepreneurship Development Cell for students who are interested in starting their own ventures organize a few entrepreneurship development programmes. The cell regularly invites successful entrepreneurs to share their experience with the students. The cell considers that its major role is to develop employment providers and not employment seekers.
