Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University (IGTAMSU) is the First Private University of Arunachal Pradesh. The University has been established under provisions of (IGTAMSU) Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University Act 2012 (Act 6 of 2012) by Government of Arunachal Pradesh. In 2002, a New Delhi-based NGO, World Institution Building Programme, had proposed setting up of the Arunachal Pradesh University of Vocational, Technological and Medical Sciences at Ziro, the nomenclature was changed later. The University has acquired 375 acres of land at Hong Village, Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh. It has been established with the main objective of innovative and applied research to be conducted for benefiting all sectors related to rural and urban employment. IGTAMSU is recognized by UGC and its B.Arch. programme is approved by Council of Architecture.

IGTAMSU Location

The University is situated in Ziro, a hill station of Arunachal Pradesh, located at about 1500 meters above mean sea level. Ziro is also the head quarter of Lower Subansiri District. Ziro is nearly 150 km from the capital, Itanagar. It is 100 km from North Lakhimpur.

IGTAMSU Facilities

Hostel – The University offers separate hostel facilities for boy and girls. The Hostel provides a cot, a mattress, a study table, a chair, a book rack and a wardrobe for each student. Allotment made to a student is subject to cancellation if he/she fails to occupy the room in the prescribed time. Students will also forfeit their rooms of they fail to clear all their dues to the hostel by the appointed day. The Chief Warden reserves the right to break open rooms or wardrobe in case of any violation of hostel rules, suspected unlawful activities or on basis of security risk perceived.

Library – The University has a total of 15,500 Reference Books and it subscribes to all Research Journals on regular basis.

Students Clubs – The University has various clubs for the students. Some of these are mentioned below.

1. Dance Club - It aims to promote the art of dancing.

2. Music Club - It aims to provide platform for the members to showcase their musical talent before entire University community by organizing events from time to time.
