About North East Frontier Technical University - NEFTU

North East Frontier Technical University (NEFTU) is a Private State University established under 2F of UGC Act 1956. NEFTU has been established through the North East Frontier Technical University Act, 2014 by Government of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative vide notification number LAW/LEGN-9/2014 in the year 2014. NEFT University is located in Aalo, West Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh, India. It has been especially established for the students of Arunachal Pradesh as they faced lots of struggle in pursuing higher technical education in the absence of a technical institute. As such it is the first Technical University in this part of India. The University is sponsored by the Automobile Society, India (ASI), a registered and renowned ISO 9001:2008 certified, not for profit society of technical professionals. The Automobile Society, Bangalore, India, is the leading training partner for various Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) of the National Skill Development Council (NSDC), Government of India.

Facilities

Hostel Accommodation – There are separate hostels for boys and girls. These have their own mess for dining. All the basic facilities like lighting, fan, washrooms, drinking water, newspapers, magazines, indoor games etc. are available for students. If a student opts for hostel, it will be compulsory for him/her to stay in hostel for at least one year.

Library – The University has wide range and rich collection of more than 12000 books. The library subscribes to national and international journals of repute and prominent research publications. It is computerized and air conditioned with proper seating arrangements.

Laboratories – Various laboratories help students conducting in research activities.

Credit Transfer - Candidates who are pursuing programmes from other universities can continue their remaining part of the programme from the NEFTU University under credit transfer provision for next year’s semester as per university rules. The period of study in NEFT University shall not be less than 50% of the total duration of the course. Candidates otherwise eligible for the course and interested to take transfer from the university under this provision will fill up the regular application form. Lateral entry shall be allowed only in programmes where the same is specifically mentioned. For more information contact the university.

Scholarships - The university offers scholarships to the meritorious candidates based on her/his academic performance in qualifying examinations prescribed by the University, viz 10+2 or Graduation, Rank/Score in All India/State Level Entrance/ Aptitude Test and candidates possessing exemplary skills in sports, performing arts or literary skills. In order to encourage the students to achieve higher performance during their studies in an academic programme, the University will institute Merit scholarships for them in recognition of their academic achievements in the concerned programmes of study. These scholarships will be awarded every year from second year onwards after the declaration of the results for a period of one year.

Amount of Scholarship

• 100% tuition fee waiver to the toppers (1st Rank Holder) of all the Board/University
• 50% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for students securing up to 4000th rank in the IIT/JEE Examination
• 50% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for students securing up to 100th rank in the AIEEE Examination
• 50% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for students securing up to 100th rank in the APJEE Examination
• 30% tuition fee for waiver as scholarship for economical weaker section
• 25% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for students securing 93% aggregate/PCM and above in class 12 or 80% marks in graduation
• 20% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for students securing up to 5000th rank in AIEEE Examination or students scoring at least 70% tile in CAT or above 700 marks in MAT
• 15% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for girls
• 50% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for students having secured gold medal or silver medal at the national level/state level in sports or have some exemplary achievements to their credit in the area of performing arts

Computer Centre - It is well equipped and spacious providing computational and networking facilities to the students.

Lecture Rooms – These are well furnished, air conditioned and spacious. They are equipped with latest audio visual aids and multimedia technology enabling the faculty members to have interactive sessions of teaching.

Cafeteria - The cafeteria serves as a continuous source of energy for the students who need them.

Sports Facilities – Various modern indoor and outdoor recreational facilities have been established for healthy body and mind.

Seminar Room - A well designed seminar room has been established for interrogative activities like group discussion, lectures by visiting, faculty, seminars etc.

Training and Placement – The university collaborates with reputed companies, firms, PSUs etc. to select students through in campus interviews, practical/vocational training leading to absorption in the company.

OJT - On Job Training is one of the most important ingredients of industry Integrated Curriculum. Industry Integration is a conscious effect on our part to prepare the students for the industry. On job training is teaching the skills, knowledge, and competencies that are needed to perform a specific job within the workplace and work environment. On job training uses the regular or existing workplace tools, machines, documents, equipment, knowledge and skills necessary for an employee to learn to effectively perform his or her job. It provides an actual hands-on experience for a considerable period before actually joining a job. This not only helps in understanding of industry but also gives an opportunity to the student to understand and integrate theoretical concepts taught in the class rooms with actual practices in the industry.

CDC - Career Development Centre (CDC) assists in building a platform for personal and professional development through various career-savvy tools, resources, networking and skill-building opportunities. NEFTU provides these opportunities to students across various sectors of the industry. For this purpose students are put through rigorous corporate readiness programs which run concurrent to their academic programs. These comprise of Industry visits, mentorship activity, field research work, corporate interface and faculty monitored corporate internship programs.
