M.Sc. Epidemiology or Master of Science in Epidemiology is a postgraduate Homeopathy course. Epidemiology deals with the study of the causes, distribution, and control of disease in a population. Master of Science in Epidemiology course is of two years (one year exemption for M.B.B.S. graduates) spread over four semesters. The duration may be more or less ranging from institute to institute. M.Sc. Epidemiology study provides the students with basic skills in health management, demography, relevant areas of behavioral sciences and health Economics. The course is very valuable and job orienting in nature that opens a lot of scopes for them.
M.Sc. Epidemiology Eligibility
- M.B.B.S. degree recognized by the Medical Council of India; Current position in Public Health, preferably in State or Central service or in Medical Institutions, sponsored on deputation for two years on a full time basis to NIE;
- Three years experience in public health/ surveillance activities after M.B.B.S.;
- Age below 45 years as on the date of commencement of the Course (i.e., 1 January each year). May be relaxed by five years for applicants with desirable experience.
- Private candidates who fulfill the above eligibility criteria also eligible
- Foreign candidates need ‘No objection Certificate’ and ‘Certificate for HIV/AIDS Tests’ from the Government of India apart from other formalities (contact the concerned institute for more information).
