M.Tech. Drilling Engineering or Master of Technology in Drilling Engineering is a postgraduate Oil and Gas Management program. Drilling engineering is a subset of petroleum engineering. Drilling engineers design and implement procedures to drill wells as safely and economically as possible. They work closely with the drilling contractor, service contractors, and compliance personnel, as well as with geologists and other technical specialists. The course focuses on the concept of effective good construction and aims to develop high levels of professional skill in the key areas of good design, drilling and operations management. A drilling engineer develops, plans, costs, and schedules and supervises the operations necessary in the process of drilling oil and gas wells. They are involved from initial good design to testing, completion and abandonment.

M.Tech. Drilling Engineering Eligibility

  • Aspiring students should have passed a B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
  • Some of the very reputed institutes conduct an entrance examination for admission.
