Eligibility Conditions

For B.Sc Program in Biotechnology and Microbiology

• Applicants must pass in higher secondary examination or its equivalent is mandatory with 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Biotechnology taken together. 

For M.Sc Bioinformatics Program

• Applicants must have graduation in any discipline of Science including Mathematics, Engineering or Medicine. Background in Mathematics or Computer Science is preferred. 

For M.Sc Microbiology & Biotechnology Programs

• Applicants must have graduation in any discipline of Biological Sciences, Engineering (Biotechnology), Medicine or Equivalent with the background in Biology. 

For Doctoral Program 

PhD in Biotechnology and PhD in Computational Neuroscience 

• Full-Time: Master’s Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry or any branch of Biological Sciences with at least 60% marks. 

• Applicants who qualified CSIR/UGC JRF or GATE can directly appear for the interview while others should appear for a written test which will be conducted in the last week of June every year. 

• Such Applicants will be called for the interview based on their performance in the written test and their qualifying exam. 

• Part-Time: Every year a few seats are kept for promising faculty members of Amrita Institutions and various other universities for the PhD Program. 

• Applicants have to appear for a written test and interview and based on the merit list, such Applicants will be offered an admission for PhD Program. 

• The main objective of the program is to generate interest in the pursuit of specific research goals in Biotechnology and the development of expansive knowledge leading to a PhD degree in a value-based environment. 

Selection Procedure

For B.Sc Programs 

• Qualifying higher Secondary or equivalent Board Examination
• Counseling at Amrita School of Biotechnology

For M.Sc Programs 

• Qualifying Undergraduate Examination
• Evaluation at Amrita School of Biotechnology
• Personal Interview at Amrita School of Biotechnology

For Doctoral Program 

• Selection will be based on a written test followed by an interview.

• Read the following instructions carefully. Fill in all the details and review it before submitting. If you are awaiting the results of the final exam/in the process of writing the qualifying exam, you could fill in these details later and proceed with applying once you results (+2/Degree) is published. 

• Pay online using Debit Cards/Credit Cards/Net Banking. 

• Pay Offline by Demand Draft. 

• If you are choosing to pay offline, then you have to draw a demand draft (DD) of Rs.350/- in favour of “Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham” payable at Kollam and enter those details in the box as shown in the image above. In that case, you have to send the hard copy of the system generated application form along with the demand draft to the following address:
