Vellore Institute of Technology VITMEE 2018 Notification

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into following programs offered in various specializations for 2018 sessions.

• Master of Technology (M.Tech)
• Master of Computer Application (MCA)
• Master of Science (M.Sc)
• Master of Philosophy (M.Phil)
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) 

Eligibility Conditions

For M.Tech Program

• B.E/B.Tech degree in any branch / M.S / M.Sc / MCA or any other equivalent degree. The applicants should have a minimum of 60 percent or equivalent in their respective undergraduate degrees. 

For MCA Program

• Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in BCA, B.Sc (IT/Computer Science) with mathematics as a course at Class 12 level or at graduation level. They should have obtained at least 60 percent in the qualifying examination. 

For M.Sc Program

• Degree in Biological Sciences for M.Sc. programs in Biotechnology/Applied Microbiology/ Biomedical genetics. The applicants interested in applying for this program must have appeared in JEE (Main) 2018 or AIPMT 2018.

For M.Phil Program

• The minimum period of study and research from the date of registration for the M.Phil Program to the date of submission of the thesis will be 18 months for full-time research scholars and two academic years for part-time research scholars. 

• Master’s degree in the relevant discipline of Science with a first class (or a minimum of 60% marks/CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale in cases where the University/ Institute does not award any class). For Languages, Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks. 

For PhD Program

• Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline with a first class or a minimum of 60% marks/CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale in cases where the University/Institute does not award any class or Equivalent qualifications like M.Sc (Engineering)/ M.S. (By Research)/M.Tech (by Research). 

• Applicants of MCA/M.Sc (CS) / M.Sc (IT) / MS Software Engineering applicants are advised to register for M.Tech by Research initially. After that, there will be an option to upgrading to PhD. 

Selection Procedure

• Selection will be made on the basis of VITMEE 2018. 

Application Form

• Applicants can apply online (www.vit.ac.in). 

• The application fee is Rs.950/- Only through Online mode (net banking/debit card/ credit card) for M.Tech and MCA programs. For M.Sc Programs, the application fee is Rs.500/-. 

• Get the login credentials at www.vit.ac.in by using your email address and mobile number. 

• Log in and fill up the application. 

• Pay the application fee by online payment using net-banking or any credit/ debit card (DD not accepted). 

• Cost of Application Rs.950/-. 

• The selected applicant will be informed to pay the fees.
