Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program under various specializations for the commencing session 2018.

Eligibility Conditions
- Master’s degree from any university recognized by the Institute, in the relevant subject.
- Master’s degree program in the relevant field with at least 60% marks or an overall grade point average (OGPA) of 6.60 out of 10.00 or 3.25 out of 5.00 or 2.60 out of 4.00 (For SC/ST/PH applicants 50% marks of OGPA of 5.60 out of 10.00, 2.75 out of 5.00 or 2.20 out of 4.00) or a certificate from registrar of having OGPA equivalent to 60% marks.
- The applicants appearing for final year exam of masters degree program can also apply subject to producing his/her master’s degree certificate on the date of counseling.
Age Limit
- Minimum age limit for PhD applicants shall be 21 years, the age shall be reckoned as on 01st August of the year of admission. No relaxation is admissible regarding the minimum age limit
Selection Procedure
- Admission shall be made based on merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination.
Reservation
- 15% of total seats are reserved for bonafide applicants belonging to SC 7.5% for ST 27% OBC and 3% for PH subject to their being otherwise eligible; 02% seats are reserved for remote and underprivileged states/UTs (UPS).
- The reservation of seats amongst the SC/ST categories is interchangeable if the sufficient number of applicants is not available in a given subject as per merit-rank in an exam.

- The sale of Information Bulletins including application forms is arranged by the ICAR through Registrars of State Agricultural Universities and Deemed Universities of ICAR.
- In case of SC/ST applicant, a certificate from a first class Magistrate of a District/Competent Authority indicating that the applicant belongs to a particular SC/ST category, which is included in the latest list, appended to the constitution of India, SC/ST Rs.1950. Application without such certificate will be considered against unreserved seats only.
- Three recent passport size photographs duly attested should be affixed at the appropriate place of the application/Admit Card.
