Notification released for Lok Sabha Internship 2018

The Speaker's Research Initiative (SRI), Parliament of India has released an official notification for inviting candidates for Lok Sabha Internship programme 2018.

There will be 50 Internship Positions for duration of three months and 50 Internship Positions for a duration of one-month in the Lok Sabha Secretariat.

The Internship Programme is aimed to provide an opportunity to young talent in the country with outstanding academic credentials for acquainting themselves with the working of parliamentary democracy through Parliamentary Internship and to train them to contribute towards a generation of research inputs for reference/use of Hon'ble Members of Parliament.

Eligibility Condition:

Applicant must be a citizen of India

For One-month internship:

Aspiring candidates must be Pursuing graduation/post-graduation in social sciences, science, languages, environmental studies, law, journalism, finance, management, etc from a recognised university or institute
A 'Recommendation Letter' from the Principal or Head of Departments of an institute or college.
250 words brief statement.

For Three-month internship

Interested candidates need to possess a Post Graduate degree in relevant discipline from a recognised university or institute
The candidate should be pursuing doctoral study
A 'Recommendation Letter' from the Principal or Head of Departments of an institute or college
250 words brief statement

Moreover, candidates should hold an outstanding academic record in disciplines such as social sciences, science, languages, environmental studies, law, journalism, finance, management, etc.

Age Limit

For one-month internship

Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 30 years

For three-month internship

Minimum: 21 years
Maximum: 30 years

Stipend

For One-month internship: Stipend payable Rs 20,000 per month and Rs 5,000 for stationery and typing expenses for three months Internship
For Three-month internship: Stipend payable Rs 20,000 per month and Rs 10,000 for stationery and typing expenses for three months Internship.

Duration of Internship

For One-month internship: The duration for Student Internship Programme will be from June 28 to July 27.
For Three-month internship: The duration of the internship programme will be three months starting from July 2 to September 28.
