University of Calcutta Phd in Pure Mathematics 2018 Notification

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into PhD Programme in Pure Mathematics offered at the Department of Pure Mathematics for 2018 sessions. 

Eligibility Conditions

• Applicants must have the bachelor degree in Engineering/Technology or master degree in Science

• Applicants appearing in the final semester/year are also eligible to apply. 

Selection Procedure

• Selection of applicants will be based upon their performance in the entrance test and interview conducted by the institute.
  
  
• The applicants who have cleared UGC/ CSIR (JRF)/ NET/ SET/ SLET/ GATE/Teacher fellowship or have passed equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil Examination shall not be required to appear at the PhD entrance test; however, they are to appear for the interview.

Application Form

• Candidates can apply in the prescribed form (as given below) after paying the prescribed application fee of Rs.100/- (in cash only) in the University Cash Counter. 

• The filled in form along with photocopies of all self-attested supporting documents are to be submitted at the departmental office between 12.00 noon and 03.00 pm on all working days. 

Important Dates

• Deadline for Application: 31^st May, 2018
• Date of Written Test for PhD Entrance Exam: 19^th Jun, 2018 (12:00 noon. – 2:00 pm)
• List of successful applicants in the entrance test will be displayed in the Departmental Notice Board on 21^st Jun, 2018 (after 3:30 pm)
• Date of Interview for the applicants qualified: 27^th Jun, & 28^th Jun, 2018 (11:30 am onwards)
