Indian Law Institute Delhi Phd LLM PG Diploma Course 2018 Notification

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Ph.D in Law, LL.M, PG Diploma Courses and Online Certificate Courses 2018 sessions. 

Courses Offered

Eligibility Conditions

Doctor of Philosophy in Law (PhD in Law)

  • An applicant holding LL.M. Degree from a recognized university with minimum 55 % marks is eligible to apply. 
  • The application form complete in all respect along with a brief Research Plan shall be submitted for admission. 

LL.M. One-year degree programme (comprising of these trimesters)

  • LLB Degree (with not less than 50 % marks) from any University/Institution recognized by Bar Council of India as eligible for enrolment as an advocate in India
                                      or
    A Law degree from a foreign country with at least 50 % marks in aggregate or equivalent grade. 
  • The Applicants appearing in the qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply but their admission will be subject to production of proof of having acquired minimum prescribed qualification, at the time of admission. 

LL.M. – Two years degree programme (comprising of these trimesters)

  • LLB Degree (with not less than 50 % marks) from any University/Institution recognized by Bar Council of India as eligible for enrolment as an advocate in India
                                      or
    A Law degree from a foreign country with at least 50 % marks in aggregate or equivalent grade. 

Post Graduate Diploma in Specialized Branches of Law (Evening classes)

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution, Corporate Laws and Management, Cyber Law, Environment Law and Management, Intellectual Property Rights Law, Labour Law. 

Eligibility

  • Minimum qualification for admission to the PG Diploma courses except for Labour Law is a graduate degree from a recognized University. 
  • 5 % weightage will be given to the law graduates for admission to the Post Graduate Diploma Courses. 
  • Applicants who have passed or appeared in the 4th year exam of LLB (five year course) from a recognized institute/university are also eligible for admission to Post Graduate Diploma Courses. 
  • On-Line Certificate Courses in Intellectual Property Rights and Information Technology in the Internet Age, and Cyber Law. 

Note

  • Anyone who is pursuing/has pursued diploma or degree after 10+2 and has access to computer and Internet can apply for online Certificate Courses. 

Selection Procedure

For Ph.D. in Law 

  • Applicants who have qualified for UGC NET/JRF, SLET, and M.Phil are exempted from taking the admission test. 
  • There shall be a written test of three hours duration for the Applicants who have not qualified UGC NET/JRF, SLET & M.Phil; the written test shall consists of two papers 
  • All qualified Applicants shall make a presentation before the Admission Committee on the proposed topic of research on a date notified by the Institute. 

For Master of Laws (LLM) – One Year Program 

  • There will be an All India Common Admission Test (CAT) for both the Programs. 
  • The All India Common Admission Test for admission to both the LLM Programs to be conducted by the Indian Law Institute with the objective of Testing Aptitude for Research, Legal Reasoning and Comprehensions and Basic Knowledge in different branches of Law. 
  • Merit list will be drawn for LLM (One Year). The Shortlisted Applicants will be called for Viva-Voce. 
  • For online submission of application form, the applicant is required to pay the fee of Rs.2500/- + service charges towards application fee through Net banking/Debit/Credit card/wallet on or before 01st June 2018. 

For Post Graduate Diploma Programs

  • Selection will be based on merit prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam as per the eligibility for individual Post Graduate Diplomas; 5% weightage will be given to Applicants who are law graduates.

Application Form

  • The Application Form complete in all respects must be submitted either in person or by Registered Post/ Speed Post/ Courier/ Messenger so as to reach the

    on or before 01st June 2018 for admission to PhD programme along with research plan and a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.2000/- only towards processing fee for admission.
  • However, if the application form is downloaded from the website of the Institute, a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.3000/- only is to be attached along with the application form.

  • For PhD Program: 01st Jun, 2018 (11.59 PM)
  • LL.M Program: 01st Jun, 2018 (11:59 PM)
  • For PG Diploma: 03rd Jul, 2018 (11:59PM)
  • All India Admission Test for admission to the PhD & LLM will be held on  09th Jun, 2018 Sunday, at 10.00 am and 03.00 pm respectively
  • Admit Card for PhD/LLM Entrance can be self-generated by candidates from  05th Jun, 2018 onwards
