Delhi University Admission 2018: Third cut-off list released

Delhi University has released its third cut-off list. With this list some of the already taken up courses in the first cutoff itself has come into reckoning due to large scale intra-DU migration. Economics (H) is one such course that is being offered at Lady Shri Ram College after some students moved to North Campus colleges under the second cut-off list. Although the dip in the third cut-off is not more than 2% points.

Gargi has reopened its political science course, while Atma Ram Sanatan Dhrama (ARSD) and Hindu colleges are again offering chemistry and Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, mathematics and B.Com. courses after the third cut-off.

Whereas some courses are closed like  B.Com is not on offer at ARSD, Aryabhatta, Kiroi Mal, Ramjas and Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), while BA Programme is closed at Gargi, Hindu, Kamala Nehru, Ramjas and Shaheed Bhagat Singh, among others. Sri Aurobindo, Aryabhatta, Dyal Singh and Sri Venkateswara colleges are not offering English (H).

The dip in most colleges has been between 0.25% and 2%. Journalism has seen a bigger dip at Kamla Nehru College (KNC) - from 96.25% to 94.5%; at LSR, it is down by 0.25% points (97.25%). SRCC has shut both B.Com (H) and economics (H) for general categories.

However, colleges like Kirori Mal, where nearly 77% seats are still vacant, are likely to see a rush under the third list. Hansraj College also hopes to fill up its crucial courses in the third list.

The number of available seats at colleges like ARSD, Gargi and Sri Venkateswara hover between 20% and 40% of the total strength and the corresponding dips in the cut-offs have also been small. The admission under the third list will take place on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.
