Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics invites applications for admission to B.Sc. (Economics) programme for the 2019-20 session

Eligibility Conditions

• Candidates are willing to seek admission to the B.Sc. (Economics) Programme at GIPE must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate (50% marks for SC/ST category candidates. The Institute will follow the relaxation rules as per Government directions) in their 12th Standard board examination or equivalent examination.

Entrance Examination

• Candidates seeking admission to the B.Sc. (Economics) programme at GIPE shall be required to appear for an ‘Entrance Examination’, to be held on Sunday, June 9, 2019. The entrance examination will consist of 100 objective type questions, each question carries one mark, and of 120 minutes duration. There will be “no negative marking” for wrong answers.1 The Entrance Examination will comprise the following components: (a) Aptitude in Mathematics (40 marks) (b) Analytical Ability and Reasoning (40 marks) (c) English language skill (20 marks). Section A

• Basic concepts in mathematics, as will be covered until the 12th standard in the CBSE syllabus

Section B

• Analytical Ability and Reasoning

Section C

• The ability to comprehend and analyze passages written in English at an intermediate level.

How to Apply?

• Candidates seeking admission to the B.Sc. (Economics) Programme shall visit the website www.gipe.ac.in. The candidates must fill the application form as per instructions provided therein and submit it online along with application fee of Rs. 1,500/- (Rs. 750/- for SC/ST category candidates). The candidates must pay application fee only through the ‘payment gateway’ by using Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking facility.
• Admission to the B.Sc. (Economics) programme shall be granted strictly on the basis of merit rank in the Entrance Examination. The Institute has no ‘Management Quota’.
