Energy Institute, Bangalore invites applications for admission of 2nd batch of students for a 2-year M.Tech. Programme in the following disciplines for the session commencing in July 2019 (Academic Session 2019-20).
- M.Tech in Renewable Energy (Seats - 12)
- M.Tech in Power and Energy Systems Engineering (Seats - 12)
- M.Tech in Energy Science and Technology (Seats - 12)
Eligibility Conditions
For Regular Category
- B.Tech / B.Engg in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Petroleum Technology & Chemical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree* with minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (55% marks or 5.5 CPI for SC/ST/PwD Candidates)
Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Ceramic and Glass Technology, Chemical Technology, Electrochemical Engineering, Oil Technology, Paint Technology, Plastic Technology, Polymer Technology, Rubber Technology or Petrochemical Engineering. Students with degrees with other subjects/nomenclature are not eligible to apply
- GATE / Non-GATE candidates’ entry criteria:
For candidates with valid GATE score, shortlisting for interview will depend on the cut-off score decided for each program.
For candidates WITHOUT GATE score (essentially the sponsored candidates), for the academic year 2019-20, the selection will be through a written exam and/or interview. The decision to conduct this written exam to be made depending on the number of GATE applicants in the program.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and interview. Final selection will be made based on the performance in written test/interview, GATE score and previous academic performances taken together.
Eligibility for Sponsorship Category
- Sponsorship basis: Valid GATE score is not required. These candidates will have to qualify in a subject-wise written test/interview. Such candidates will not be eligible for M.Tech. scholarship. The candidate should have worked for the sponsoring organization for at least two years and need to submit a No Objection Certificate, leave approval for at least two years and the company should guarantee continued employment during the period of study.
How to Apply?
- Admission Form should be submitted online before the last date as specified under “Important Dates” by paying the necessary application fee. Candidates need to bring all the documentary evidences in original (testimonials, certificates, publications, work experience, and research/professional experience) along with a self-attested photocopy of each at the time of interview.
