JNCASR or Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research has invited online applications for admission to Research Programmes i.e., PhD/M.S (Engg.)/M.S(Research) in Sciences and Engineering from candidates with M.Sc or equivalent, BE/B.Tech or equivalent or ME/M.Tech or equivalent or B.VSc/M.VSc or MBBS/MD.
Eligibility Conditions
Aspiring candidates should have got at least 50% in their highest University examination and should also have qualified in any one of the National exams such as GATE/JEST/GPAT/UGC-NET-JRF/CSIR-NET-JRF/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF/INSPIRE-JRF.
Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research 2021 Selection procedure
Candidates will be short-listed for an interview based on their performance in the national entrance test and /or qualifying degree. The selection is based on the performance in the interview as concerned in some units, an aptitude test/preliminary interview will precede the final interview.
For Master of Science (M.Sc) in Chemistry with an option to specialize in Materials Chemistry or Chemistry Biology.
Candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry or Chemical Biology as main subjects. Those appearing in final examination of their Bachelor’s degree may also apply and those who have qualified in the Joint Admission Test (JAM) are also eligible to apply.
For Masters Course-
Shortlisted candidates based on fulfilling the eligibility criteria will have to appear for a written test at JNCASR. Based on the performance in the written test, candidates will be called for an interview. Shortlisted JAM candidates may be exempted from the written test and will be called for an interview directly. The final selection is based on the performance in the interview.
For Integrated Ph.D. Program in Material Science, Chemical Science, and Biological Science,
Candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s level. Candidates appearing in the final examination of their Bachelor’s degree may also apply and those who have qualified Joint Admission Test (JAM) are also encouraged to apply. Short-listing will be through the Joint Admission Test for Master’s (JAM) and /or JNCASR’s written test, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates on the same day or the following day. The final selection will be based on the performance in the interview.
