Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai Invites Applications for Admission to M.Sc/M.Phil/Ph.D Programs

Applications are invited for admission into M.Sc. (Economics), M.Phil./Ph.D. (Development Studies) for 2012. 

Eligibility Conditions 

• For M.Sc. (Economics): B.A./B.Sc. in Economics/B.Com./B.Stat./B.Sc. (Physics or mathematics)/B.Tech./B.E. with at least a second division for Economics discipline and first division for other disciplines.
• For M.Phil./Ph.D. (Development Studies): M.A./M.Sc in Economics/M.Stat./M.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics or Environmental Science or Operations Research)/ M.B.A./M.Tech./M.E./B.Tech./B.E. with at least 55% aggregate marks for Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines. 

How to Apply 

• By Post: Application forms and prospectus may be purchased from the institute students’ office on a working day (Monday to Friday, 9.15 a.m. to 5.45 p.m.). The request for the application form in plain paper should have the candidate's name, date of birth, ***, address, academic qualifications, choice of test centre etc.
• Internet Download: Application form can also be downloaded directly from the website of IGIDR (www.igidr.ac.in). Request for application by post and internet downloaded application forms along with a bank draft of Rs.500/- (non-refundable) in favour of Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) payable at Mumbai may be sent by post to the students Office, IGIDR, Gen. A.K. Vaidya Marg, Santosh Nagar, Goregaon (East), Mumbai 400 065 (E-mail: [email protected]). Payment in any other form will not be accepted. 
• Online Application: Candidates can fill the application form online available at www.igidr.ac.in.  The online application fee is Rs.300/- only.

 Selection Procedure

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in a written test and an interview. The written test emphasizes general aptitude, analytical ability and mathematical skills.  Based on the performance in the written test, short listed candidates will be called for an interview at IGIDR around the last week of June2012.

 Important Dates

• Last date for issue of application forms by post: Monday,  19^th March, 2012
• Last date for receipt of completed application form: Friday,  23^rd March, 2012
• The written test will be held on: Sunday,  29^th April, 2012
