Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras Invites Application for Admission to M.Tech Program

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into M.Tech program offered in following  departments :

• Aerospace Engg
• Applied Mechanics
• Chemical Engg.
• Civil Engg.
• Computer Science and Engg.
• Electrical Engg.
• Mathematics (Industrial Mathematics and Scientific Computing)
• Mechanical Engg.
• Metallurgical and Materials Engg.
• Ocean Engg
• Physics (Solid State Technology) 

Eligibility Conditions

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering /Technology /Architecture or equivalent, or Master’s degree in Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics/Life Sciences or related subjects or Professional qualification like AMIE or any other Associate membership as specified in the M.Tech Admission website (http://mtechadm.iitm.ac.in).
• Qualified in GATE 2011 or 2012. 

Note: Candidates graduating/graduated with B.Tech. degree from IITs with CGPA of 7.5 and above for SC/ST category and 8.0 and above for others can apply without GATE score. 

How to Apply

Application can be submitted only online. The application fee is Rs.100/- for SC/ST/PD candidates and Rs.200/- for others (DD to be drawn on any nationalized bank in favor of “The Registrar, IIT Madras” payable at Chennai). Selection Procedure

Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of screening test and PI which will be done on all India basis.

• Last date for receipt of completed applications (downloaded copy with draft) by post at the GATE office: Thursday,  5^th April, 2012
