How to Apply

• Applications forms can be downloaded from IIT Patna’s website: http://www.iitp.ac.in or www.iitp.ac.in/index.php/notice-board/419-phd-admission-july-2012.htmleither in Doc format or in PDF format.
• Application forms can also be obtained from the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Indian Institute of Technology, Patna, Patliputra Colony, Patna – 800013, Bihar on or before the last date through ordinary post or in person. To receive application form by post, send a request along with a self addressed, stamped envelope (24cm x 15 cm size). Request must be sent in an envelope super scribed with ‘Request for PhD Application form’.
• Duly filled in application forms complete with copies of mark sheet/certificates and other testimonials and a DD for Rs 300/- (For general/OBC candidates) and Rs 150/- (For SC/ST/PD candidates) drawn in any nationalized bank and payable at Patna in favor of IIT Patna should be sent to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Indian Institute of Technology Patna, Pataliputra Colony, Patna – 800013, Bihar, to reach on or before   30^th April, 2012. 

Selection Procedure

• Candidates will be selected on the basis of their written test or/and interview, based on performance in GATE/NET, grades/marks in the qualifying examination etc. 

Important Dates

• Last date for issue of application form: Monday,  23^rd April, 2012 (by post/in person)
• Last date for receipt of completed application forms by IIT Patna: Monday,  30^th April, 2012
