Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad Invites Applications for Admission into M.Phil Programs

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into one year M.Phill. Programme for the academic year 2013

• Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Applied Physics
• Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Applied Chemistry
• Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Applied Mathematics
• Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in English 

Eligibility Conditions

• Candidates must possess a master’s degree in the relevant subjects from reputed colleges/universities.
  
  
• Minimum of 55% or CGPA/CPI of 5.5 in 10 point scale (without rounding off) in the qualifying degree for GN/OBC candidates.
  
  
• Minimum of 50% or CGPA/CPI of 5.0 in 10 point scale (without rounding off) in the qualifying degree for SC/ST candidates. 

How to Apply

• The application form for M.Phil program has to be submitted online at ISM official website from 14^th Feb, 2013.
  
  
• The application fee for M.Phil program is Rs.1500 for GN/OBC candidates and Rs.750 for SC/ST/PD candidates.
  
  
• The application fee is to be paid through online bank challan of SBI.
  
  
• The completed application with fee receipt should reach on or before 5^th Apr, 2013 at the following address:

Selection Procedure

• The admission to different M.Phil programs, NET qualified candidate will be preferred over ISM-EE candidates.
  
  
• The admission to M.Phil for NET qualified candidates will be held through counseling and/or interview to be held at ISM. Interview will be conducted if number of NET qualified candidates is more than the number of seats available in each discipline.
  
  
• The M.Phil seats which will remain vacant after admitting NET qualified candidates will be filled with the ISM-EE candidates.
  
  
• The admission to M.Phil programs for ISM-EE/sponsored candidates will be on the basis of all India entrance examination.

• Last date for online submission of application form: 30^th Mar, 2013 (Saturday)
• Last date for the receipt of completed/online application form: 5^th Apr, 2013 (Friday)
• Date for written test for ISM-EE/sponsored candidates:  12^th May, 2013 (Sunday)
