University of Calcutta Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D in Physics Program

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program in Physics offered at Department of Physics for 2013. 

Eligibility Conditions

• Candidates who are studying in the final semester of the qualifying examination and have cleared all the papers up to 3rd semester can apply.

How to Apply

• Candidates can download the application form from the departmental webpage at http://www.physics-caluniv.in/admissions.html by paying Rs.100 through a challan obtainable from College Street Campus (sales counter).
  
  
• The filled-in application form, along with the challan, should be submitted to the Office, Department of Physics, definitely by 1^st Apr, 2013. 

Selection Procedure

• The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written MCQ-type examination of 1 hour duration to be held at the Department on 5^th Apr, 2013 at 12-00 hr.
  
  
• The successful candidates will be called for an interview on 8^th Apr and 9^th Apr, 2013. The final selection for joining the Department as a Ph.D. student will be on the basis of the interview.
  
  
• Candidates who have already passed UGC/CSIR (JRF) examinations/NET/SET/SLET/GATE/Teacher fellowship or equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil/M.Tech or equivalent examination need not appear at the written examination, but have to appear at the interview.
