National Institute of Technology (NIT), Calicut Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D Programs

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into full-time/part-time/internal/external Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programs offered at various departments and Schools for 2013. 

Eligibility Conditions

For Ph.D in Engineering

• Candidates holding M.Tech. degree in Engineering/Technology in the appropriate branch of study with first class or minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) and or SC/ST candidates, minimum 50% mark (CGPA 5.5/10) are eligible to apply.

For Ph.D in Architecture

• Candidates holding master’s degree in Architecture/Design/Planning/Engineering/Technology or its equivalent with first class or minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) and for SC/ST candidates, minimum 50% marks (CGPA 5.5/10) are eligible to apply. 

How to Apply

• Candidates need to apply online.
  
  
• Candidates need to draw a demand draft towards application fee of Rs.600 for open and OBC candidates and Rs.300 for SC/ST candidates drawn in favour of “Director NIT Calicut” payable at State Bank of India, NIT Calicut Branch (Code No. 2207) is to be enclosed.
  
  
• Candidates then need to send the print out of the application along with requisite enclosures by registered post/speed post to the:

  Kerala                                                                                    on or before 15^th May, 2013. 

Selection Procedure

• The admission to Ph.D. programs will be on the basis of written test and/or interview, by the respective department/school. 

Important Dates

• Last date for receipt of completed applications: 15^th May, 2013 (Wednesday)
• Date of written test/interview: 11^th Jun, 2013 (Tuesday)
