Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra Invites Applications for Admission into M.E/M.Tech Programs

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Master of Engineering (M.E) and Master of Technology (M.Tech) programs in various disciplines and specializations offered at Mesra and other campuses such as BIT Allahabad, Deoghar, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lalpur, Noida and Patna for 2013. 

Note

• For M.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Wireless Communication), the program will be offered at BIT Kolkata and BIT Patna campuses and M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering at BIT Allahabad, Kolkata, Noida and Patna campuses. 

Eligibility Conditions

For M.E programs

• Candidates must hold a B.E. / B.Tech / AMIE or equivalent degree in the appropriate disciplines / branches. Candidates must have a first class or minimum 60% marks in average (45% for SC/ST) in graduation.

For M.Tech programs

• Candidates must hold a B.E. / B.Tech / AMIE / MCA / equivalent degree in the appropriate disciplines / branches, with a first class or minimum 60% marks in average (45% for SC/ST) in graduation / MCA.
                                      Or
  Candidates should hold M.Sc. / M.A. degree or equivalent in the appropriate disciplines / branches with 55% (45% for SC/ST), after graduating with a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in 10+2+3 system from a recognized University. 

How to Apply

• Eligible candidates must download and print the application form available on the institute’s website.
  
  
• Candidates should draw a crossed demand draft for Rs.2000 for general category candidates and Rs.1200 for SC/ST candidates (non-refundable) in favor of “Birla Institute of Technology”, payable at Ranchi.
  
  
• The completed application form along with requisite documents needs to be sent to the:

  mentioning in the envelope as “Application for PG 2013”. 

Selection Procedure

For GATE qualified candidates

• Provisional selections to the M.E. / M.Tech programs will be on the basis of scores obtained in GATE 2013, previous academic record and personal interviews / counseling, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria.

For Non-GATE candidates

• Provisional selections of Non-GATE candidates will be on the basis of written test, previous academic record and personal interviews / counseling, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria. However, their admission will be considered only after applicants who have qualified in GATE 2013 have been considered and admitted, subject to the availability of seats.

• Last date for receipt of completed application form: 15^th Jun, 2013 (Saturday)
• Tentative dates for written test and interviews / counseling: 9^th Jul, 2013 (Tuesday) to 12^th Jul, 2013 (Friday)
