Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra Invites Applications for Admission into Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D Program

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Integrated Master of Technology-Doctor of Philosophy (M.Tech-Ph.D) program in Atmospheric Science & Engineering offered at the institute for 2013.
Eligibility Conditions
- Candidates must have passed B.E. / B.Tech in Aerospace, Civil, ECE, Environmental, IT Engineering, Mechanical and Geo-informatics with 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate.
Or
Candidates with M.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geology, Geophysics, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanography, Remote Sensing, Geo-informatics with minimum 55% (45% marks for SC/ST) marks in aggregate are eligible to apply.
How to Apply
- Eligible candidates must download and print the application form available on the institute’s website.
- Candidates should draw a crossed demand draft for Rs.2000 for general category candidates and Rs.1200 for SC/ST candidates (non-refundable) in favor of “Birla Institute of Technology”, payable at Ranchi.
- The completed application form along with requisite documents needs to be sent to the

Selection Procedure
For GATE qualified candidates
- Provisional selection will be on the basis of scores obtained in GATE 2013, previous academic record and personal interviews / counseling, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria.
For Non-GATE candidates
- Provisional selections will be on the basis of written test, previous academic record and personal interviews / counseling, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria. However, their admission will be considered only after applicants who have qualified in GATE 2013 have been considered and admitted, subject to the availability of seats.
Last date for receipt of completed application form: 15th Jun, 2013 (Saturday)
Tentative dates for written test and interviews/counseling: 9th Jul, 2013 (Tuesday) to 12th Jul, 2013 (Friday)
