St Stephen admission seeker increased marginally this year

St Stephen, a renowned college of Delhi University has received more number of applications then previous year. Overall 450 seats are available in the college for undergraduate programs for which 25636 applications has been received for current year in comparison to 25,000 applications received in the last year.

The highest numbers of applications were 6,469 that were received for economics courses whereas English and Mathematics course get 5,956 and 4,023 respectively.

For the very first time, online application process is introduced alongside college has extended the time period for receiving the application till 5 pm on Wednesday. The college will shortly issue the cut off list of the candidates which will be called for the interview. Name of selected candidates for interview will be released by 22 June 2013. The interviews will be scheduled from 24 June to 6 July 2013, starting with Sanskrit, Physics, Economics and English simultaneously and ends with Philosophy on 5 July. The admission for sports will start from 6 July 2013.

After abolishing BA and BSc program, 100 vacant seats were redistributed among economics, English, physics, and chemistry where 50 seats were added in economics, 30 seats in English and 10 seats in physics and chemistry each. Added seats will lead to starting another section for economics.
