Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi Invites Applications for admission into Ph.D Program

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program offered in various disciplines for 2013-14. 

Eligibility Conditions

• A candidate shall be required to have passed the qualifying examination securing the minimum percentage of marks and a minimum of 50 marks in academic record. 

How to Apply

• Candidates can apply online.
  
  
• Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. program are required to give their preferences of main discipline and allied disciplines to the maximum of five choices in the application form.
  
  
• The choice of discipline once indicated in the application form shall be final and shall not be changed subsequently on any ground.
  
  
• The application fees for SC/ST candidates is Rs.250 and for others is Rs.500.
  
  
• The printout of the online submitted application form shall be submitted in superscript envelope to the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Banaras Hindu University. 

Selection Procedure

• Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the RET entrance test conducted by the university.
• NET (JRF), NET (LS) and GATE qualified candidates shall be eligible for direct admission.

• Last date for online submission of application forms: 30^th Jun, 2013 (Sunday)
• Last date for submission of printout of online submitted application forms: 7^th Jul, 2013 (Sunday)
• Dates of RET examination: 21^st Jul, 2013 (Sunday)
