Jadavpur University, Kolkata Invites Applications for Admission into M.Sc in Biotechnology and Instrumentation Programs

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into day Master of Science (M.Sc) programs in Biotechnology and Instrumentation offered at Department of Life Science & Biotechnology and Department of Instrumentation for 2013.

Eligibility Conditions

For M.Sc in Biotechnology Program

Candidates having minimum 55% marks in B.Sc (Honours/ equivalent) in any branch of Science with at least 50% marks in Mathematics in H.S level are eligible to apply.

For M.Sc in Instrumentation Program

Candidates passed with 50% marks in the 3 year B.Sc. (Honours/ equivalent) in Physics/ Instrumentation/ Electronics/ Chemistry (with pass subject in Physics and Mathematics) can apply.
Candidate should have Physics, Chemistry, & Mathematics in the H.S Level.
Candidate who have appeared the B.Sc (Hons.) or its equivalent final examination this year, the result of which are yet to be published are also eligible to apply.

How to Apply

Candidates need to register online.
After submitting the application, he/she will get a unique application No. Using this No. he/she can re-login into the system.
After submitting the application, the candidate will need to print out SBI bank challan and make payment for application(s). The challan has two identical parts: one will be retained by the candidate and the other will be retained by the bank.
The employed candidates will need to take a printout of the duly completed application form and Proforma-A (for school teachers only) or Proforma-B (for employed candidate other than school teachers), as applicable, in support of their employment. Filled-in proforma along with application form and photocopy of bank challan shall be submitted to the office of the dean & secretary, faculty of Science within June 28^th Jun, 2013 otherwise the application will be rejected.

Selection Procedure

Candidates will be selected strictly on the basis of Results of a two-tier entrance examination consisting of written test and a viva-voce. Limited number of candidates from the top of the interim merit list after written test will be called for viva-voce.
Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of both the written test and viva voce.
