University of Calcutta Invites Applications for Admission into PhD in Sociology

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into the PhD programme in Sociology for 2014.

How to apply

• The application form for the programme may be downloaded from the University Website http://www.caluniv.ac.in
  
  
• Applications are to be submitted to the Department after payment of Rs.100 at the University Cash Counter on all working days before 2 p.m.
  
  
• All candidates (NET/SET, M.Phil., and non-NET) are to submit the filled-up form.
  
  
• Candidates who do not have NET/SET or M.Phil. have to sit for the written test or the Entrance Test. Such candidates are advised to consult the P.G. syllabus of the Department of Sociology, University of Calcutta. Candidates declared successful at the written test are to appear at the Viva Voce test along with the NET/SET and M.Phil. candidates.
  
  
• Reservations will be as per U.G.C. rules.

Important Dates

• Last date for submission of application forms 25^th Sep, 2013
• Entrance Test (for non-NET/SET & non-M.Phil. candidates): 30^th Sep, 2013
• Results of the written test: 7^th Oct, 2013
• Viva Voce Test for all candidates: 23^rd Oct, 2013
• Results: 15^th Nov, 2013
• Admission to the Programme: 18^th to 22^nd Nov, 2013
