Applications are invited from eligible candidates for full-time Doctoral (PhD) Research Programme in Biological / Engineering Sciences for January 2014 session from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, under Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR)
Eligibility Conditions
PhD (Science)
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine or B.S (of 4 year duration) or a Master's Degree in Science with valid National level Fellowship (JRF/SRF of various funding agencies, e.g. CSIR, UGC, DST, DBT, ICMR etc.), INSPIRE or other equivalent fellowships.
PhD (Engineering)
- A Master's Degree in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology with exceptionally good academic record or a Master's degree in Sciences with a valid GATE score with valid UGC / CSIR-JRF/NET / NBHM / CSIR-SRF / ICMR-SRF or equivalent Fellowships.
- Research Scholars (JRFs and SRFs) already working in the Institute and meeting the requisite academic qualifications are eligible to apply.
- Project Assistants / Project Fellows with a minimum of one year of experience as on 24th Oct, 2013 and currently engaged in projects with remaining period of four years at CSIR-CFTRI and meeting the requisite academic qualifications are also eligible to apply. Such of these Candidates are to submit to the AcSIR Coordinator of CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore (Dr. C. Anandharamakrishnan) a statement of purpose (brief research proposal) along with the recommendation of the proposed guide with whom the Candidate wishes to undertake PhD programme, if selected.
- Admission criteria for SC / ST / OBC / Women / Physically Handicapped candidates is relaxable as per GOI rules.

Selection Procedure
- Selection for admission to PhD programme in Biological / Engineering Sciences of AcSIR at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore shall be on the basis of Aptitude tests/Interviews of short listed Candidates to be held at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore. Candidates are advised to visit the AcSIR website for dates of interview in the first week of November 2013.
