Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economic Invites Applications for Admission into PhD

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admissions into PhD programme.

Eligibility Conditions

• A candidate with a Master’s Degree in Economics, Population Studies, and Agricultural Economics with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved category candidates) from a recognized University / Institute is eligible to apply for the PhD programme of the Institute.

Admission Process

• Admission to the PhD programme of the Institute will be through an Entrance Examination to be conducted on annual basis as per the schedule recommended by the Internal Ph.D. Committee depending upon availability of seats.

How to Apply

• A candidate seeking admission to the PhD programme shall apply to the Director in the prescribed application form after notification of admissions to the programme. Candidates shall download the application form from the Institute’s websitewww.gipe.ac.in and submit the same to the PhD section at the Institute along with application fee of Rs.1750 (Rs.875 for reserved category candidates).

Important Dates

• Candidates desirous of seeking admission to the PhD programme should submit their application on or before 29^th Nov, 2013 (Friday)
• List of the candidates eligible to appear for the Entrance Examination will be displayed on the website on 16^th Dec, 2013 (Monday)
• The Entrance Examination for admission to the PhD programme will be held on 11^th Jan, 2014 (Saturday)
• The result of the Entrance Examination will be declared tentatively on 20^th jan, 2014  (Monday)
