National Institute of Technology (NIT), Patna Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D Programs 2014

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into following disciplines offered in various research areas for 2014.

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Chemistry
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Humanities and Social Science
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mathematics
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Physics

Eligibility Conditions

For Ph.D in Science Programs

• Candidates possessing master’s degree in the area of Science from a recognized university/institute with minimum 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 in 10 point scale) in the qualifying examinations shall be considered for admission in the departments as per their specialization only.

For Ph.D in Humanities and Social Science Program

• Candidates possessing master’s degree in the area of English or Economics from a recognized university/institute with minimum 55% marks (or a CGPA of 5.5 in 10 point scale) in the qualifying examinations shall be considered for admission in the departments as per their specialization only.

How to Apply

• Candidates can apply online.
• Application fee of Rs.1000 for general/ OBC/ sponsored category and Rs.500 for SC/ ST/ PH in the form of DD drawn in favour of National Institute of Technology Patna payable at Patna.

Selection Procedure

• Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the admission test and interview conducted by the institute.

Important Dates

• Closing date of online application submission: 26^th May, 2014.
• Display of list of eligible candidates for admission test: 5^th Jun, 2014.
• Date of admission test: 20^th Jun, 2014.
• Result of admission test: 20^th Jun, 2014.
• Interview for eligible candidates: 21^st Jun, 2014 and 22^nd Jun, 2014.
• Merit list of selected candidates: 25^th Jun, 2014.
