National Institute of Technology (NIT), Durgapur Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D in Engineering Programs 2014

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program with fellowship in following for the commencing session 2014.
- Chemical Engineering (OB/SC/ST)
- Civil Engineering (OP/ OB/ SC/ ST)
- Computer Science & Engineering (OB)
- Electrical Engineering (OP/OB/ST)
- Electronics & Communication Engineering (OP/OB/SC)
- Mechanical Engineering (OP/ OB/ SC/ ST)
- Metallurgical & Materials Engineering (OP/OB/SC/ST)
Eligibility Conditions
- M. Tech/ M.E/ M. Arch/ M.Pharm in relevant discipline with at least 6.5 CGPA or 60 percent marks in aggregate in the M.E./ M. Tech. level from a recognized technical institute or university/ government open university.
- Candidates with B.Tech/ B.E/ MCA/B. Arch/ B.Pharm in relevant discipline with at least 7.0 CGPA or 65 percent marks in aggregate from a recognized technical institute or university/ government open university are also eligible to apply.
How to Apply
Selection Procedure
- A short-list of candidates will be posted on institute website. Eligible candidates without a valid GATE score/ NET qualification will take a written admission test conducted in the department followed by a viva voce with the Central Admission Committee on the same day.
- GATE/ NET qualified candidates shall not have to appear for the written admission test and shall appear for viva voce only.
Important Dates
- Last date for online submission of application forms: 25th Jul, 2014.
- Publication of the list of candidates called for admission test and viva voce in the institute website: 1st Aug, 2014.
- Date of written test, screening and viva-voce: 6th Aug, 2014 to 7th Aug, 2014.
