National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D in Engineering Programs 2014-15

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into following programmes offered in various areas for 2014-15.

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Civil Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Applied Mechanics & Hydraulics
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mechanical Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Chemical Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mining Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Computer Science & Engineering

Eligibility Conditions

• Passed in undergraduate and postgraduate degree in relevant field with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 in the 0-10 scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate (taking into account the marks scored in all the subjects of all the public/ university examinations conducted during the entire prescribed period for the undergraduate and post graduate program).

Selection Procedure

• Selection of candidates for admission to Ph.D program will be based upon the academic performance in the qualifying examinations, written aptitude test, presentation on a research topic and interview as specified by the concerned departments.

Important Dates

• Last date of submission of the application form: 24^th Nov, 2014.
• Applications to be sent to the departments for processing: 26^th Nov, 2014.
• Last date for dispatch of call letters to short-listed candidates: 1^st Dec, 2014.
• Date of selection test/interview: 15^th Dec, 2014.
• Publication of provisional selection/merit-list on website: 19^th Dec, 2014.
