Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in following departments for the session 2015.

• Bengali
• Economics
• Film Studies
• History
• International Relations

How to Apply

• Candidates should apply in the prescribed form available on the website.
  
  
• The downloaded form is to be submitted along with a draft of Rs.500/- in favour of registrar, Jadavpur University payable at Kolkata, to the office of the dean and secretary, faculty of arts.

Selection Procedure

• Candidates will be selected through a written test of two hour duration and an interview to be held in the respective departments.
  
  
• However the candidates who have an M.Phil degree or have qualified NET/SET need not appear for written examination and can directly apply to appear for an interview.
  
  
• A candidate who has an M.Phil degree from any university other than Jadavpur University will be required to submit a certificate from the competent authority stating that the selection to the M.Phil course has been made through a written test and that a component of the course work of at least one semester duration was on research methodology.

Important Dates

• Last date of submission of applications: 19th Dec, 2014.
• Date of display of eligible candidates for written test /interview: 30^th Dec, 2014.
• Date of written admission test: 6^th Jan, 2015 to 08^th Jan, 2015.
• Date of display of successful candidates: 15^th Jan, 2015.
