Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D Programs 2015

Applications are invited from eligible candidate for admission into following programme for 2015.

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Avionics
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Earth and Space Sciences
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Chemistry
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Humanities
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mathematics
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Physics

Eligibility Conditions

• Master’s degree in the relevant area with first class or equivalent in their master’s degree. They must have qualified UGC/CSIR NET -JRF (or) NET-lectureship (or) GATE qualified in the relevant disciplines.
  
  
• Outstanding candidates with bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with an excellent academic record and aptitude for research may be considered for direct admission to the Ph.D program.

How to Apply

• Candidates can apply online from 10^th Dec, 2014.
  
  
• Application fee is to the extent of Rs.250/- per department code (for SC/ST/PWD and women - Rs.125/- per department code).

Selection Procedure

• From the eligible applicants, a short-listing will be done, taking into account their applicable GATE/NET scores.
• The final selection is based on a written test/ interview or interview alone depending on the number of candidates who have applied.

• Opening of IIST website for online submission of applications: 10^th Dec, 2014
• Last date for submission of application form: 26^th Dec, 2014.
• Last date for payment of application fee: 30^th Dec, 2014.
• Display of shortlisted candidates on website: First week of January 2015.
• Tentative schedule of interview: Third week of January 2015.
