University of Calcutta (CU), Kolkata Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D Program 2015

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program offered in Department of Applied Optics & Photonics for 2015.

Eligibility Conditions

• M.Tech (Optics and Optoelectronics/ Electronics & Telecommunication/ Instrumentation or equivalent), M.Sc (Tech) in Optics and Optoelectronics, B.Tech in the relevant field with at least 5 years of R&D experience and M.Sc (Physics/ Electronics/ Biomedical Instrumentation or equivalent).

How to Apply

• Candidates should apply in plain paper in the format attached herewith (downloadable from university website, admission notification) to the head of the department, after paying Rs.100/- to the university cash counter through a challan available from the university sales counter of the C.U. College Street Campus.

Selection Procedure

• Selection will be based on the basis of their performance in the entrance test and interview conducted by the university. Students who have cleared UGC/CSIR (JRF) Examinations/ NET/ SET/ SLET/ GATE/ Teacher Fellowship or have passed equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil/ M.Tech/ M.D/ M.E/ M.Pharm or equivalent examination shall not be required to appear at the Ph.D entrance (written) test.

Important Dates

• Last date for submission of application form: 30^th Apr, 2015.
• List of candidates found eligible for written test or direct interview: 04^th May, 2015.
• Date for PhD admission written test: 08^th May, 2015.
• Publication of list of candidates qualified in written test and selected for interview: 11^th May, 2015.
• Date of interview: 15^th May, 2015.
