Indian Institute of Technology Bombay JAM 2012 Invites Applications for Admission to M.Sc. programmes in IITs

All the Eligible candidates are Invited for the Admission to M.Sc. (Two Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree and other post-bachelor’s degree programmes

Eligibility Conditions

The candidates who qualify in JAM 2012 shall have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria for admissions in IITs.

• At least 55% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC, ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree.

For candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s).

• Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the minimum educational qualification as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by 30^th Sept, 2012.

Note: At the time of admission, all admitted candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form. At the time of registration, the admitted candidates may also have to undergo a physical fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Admitting Institute. In case a candidate is not found physically fit to pursue his/her chosen course of study, his/her admission is liable to be cancelled.

  • Fee for application form from banks / IITB JAM office: Male- Rs.1000/-; Female - Rs.900/-
  • Fee for online registration: Male- Rs.900/-; Female - Rs.800/-
  • Application fee for 2nd test paper: Rs.300/- for Both
• SC/ST/PD
  • Fee for application form from banks / IITB JAM office: Rs.500/-
  • Fee for online registration: Rs.400/-
  • Application fee for 2nd test paper: Rs.150/-

Note: Candidates can submit Application Form in two different modes : Online and Offline. The preferred mode of application process is Online

Candidate can obtain a packet containing:

Designated Bank Branches of Canara Brank on cash payment. OR
from GATE-JAM Office, IIT Bombay after handing over Demand Draft for appropriate amount.

Online Application Process

Payment through Demand Draft only.

Demand draft of appropriate amount should be drawn in favour of “Chairman JAM, IIT Bombay”, on any bank, payable at Bombay.
Duly filled-in Application Form with appropriate enclosures must be sent by Speed Post (preferably) or by Registered Post to The Organizing Chairman, JAM 2012, IIT Bomaby, Powai, Mumbai 400076 so as to reach there on or before 1^st Nov, 2011 OR

It can be handed over personally to GATE-JAM Office, IIT Bombay.
