Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D Programs 2015

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into following programme for candidates in Institute Scholar, Sponsored Scholar, Project Scholar (Projects running at IIT Bhubaneswar) categories for the spring session 2015-16. 

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in School of Basic Sciences
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in School of Earth
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Ocean & Climate Sciences
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in School of Electrical Sciences
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in School of Humanities
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Social Sciences and Management
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in School of Infrastructure
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in School of Mechanical Sciences
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in School of Minerals and Metallurgical
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Materials Engineering 

Eligibility Conditions 

For Ph.D Engineering Program

• Candidates need to have minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in a 10-point scale) in M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with a  valid GATE score in the year of admission into the M.Tech. program.
                         Or
  Candidates having B. Tech./B.E. or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with minimum 70% marks or 7.5 CGPA (in a 10-point scale) with a valid GATE score or having secured a UGC/CSIR-NET JRF.
  
  
• All candidates must have a consistently good academic record. Provisional certificate is acceptable.

For Ph.D Basic Science

• Candidates need to have a minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in a 10-point scale) in the master’sor equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with consistently good academic record. Provisional certificate is acceptable.
                              Or
  Candidates need to have a minimum 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA (in a 10-point scale) in the Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with consistently good academic record. Provisional certificate is acceptable.

Note: 5% relaxation of marks in all academic examination would be granted to the SC/ST/PwD candidates compared to the General/OBC (NCL) candidates. This is applicable to all candidates.

• Candidates need to pay application fees of Rs.500/- for General/OBC, and Rs.250/- for SC/ST/PwD Female candidates are exempted from paying application fee.
