Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D Programs 2015

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program offered in various departments for midyear session 2015. 

Eligibility Conditions 

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of Engineering/Technology; or Master’s degree in Science in an appropriate field; or Bachelor's degree in Science (with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry as subjects of study) followed by AMIE, AMIIChE, Grad.IETE etc.
  
  
• ME/ M Tech/ M Sc (Engg)/ M Des. or MS or MBA (post BE/B Tech) qualified candidates who wish to apply for Ph D in the departments of Engineering Faculty - valid NET qualification is not mandatory but desirable. 

How to Apply

• Candidates can apply online.
  
  
• Application fee (non refundable) for General / OBC is Rs.800/- and for SC / ST / PWD is Rs.400/-. Bank service charge extra is to be borne by the applicants.
  
  
• Mode of Payment for Application fee: Only online payment mode is available (includes internet-banking, debit card, visa/master credit card payments).

Selection Procedure

• Qualifying in one of the following appropriate National Entrance Test (NET) with validity as on 1^st Jan, 2016:
  • CSIR-UGC NET for JRF; or UGC-NET for JRF; or DBT JRF; or ICMR JRF; or JEST 2015; or NBHM Screening Test 2015; or GATE 2014/2015 or INSPIRE Fellows (for Ph D)is mandatoryfor bachelor degree candidates.
    
    
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.

• Last date for online submission of applications: 30^th Oct, 2015.
• Date of interview: 19^th Nov, 2015/ 20^th Nov, 2015.
