National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D Programs 2016

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into following programme for the commencing session January 2016. 

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in the School of Biological Sciences
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Chemical Sciences
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Physical Sciences
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mathematical Sciences 

Eligibility Conditions

For Ph.D in Biological Sciences

• 60% in masters in any branches of Biology, Life Sciences or allied fields, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Bioinformatics.
• Student with masters in any branches of Natural or Computer Sciences with interest in pursuing career in Biology can also apply.

For Ph.D in Chemical Sciences

• 60% in masters in Chemistry or allied fields.

For Ph.D in Physical Sciences

• 60% in masters in Physics or allied fields.

For Ph.D in Mathematical Sciences

• 60% in Masters in Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science. Applications for the Ph.D program in the School of Mathematical Sciences will be considered only in three areas – Cryptography, Probability & Statistics. 

How to Apply

• Candidates can apply online from 15^th Oct, 2015.
  
  
• Candidates intending to apply for more than one school should fill up online application forms for each school and send the forms with appropriate enclosures in separate envelopes. The top of the envelope should be marked with the auto generated “Application No___ and School of ____Sciences in which they are applying.
  
  
• Candidates must post the hard copy of the application bearing auto generated application number along with the relevant enclosures.

Selection Procedure

• The selection committee will short-list the candidates who meet the minimum educational qualifications and satisfy additional criteria which each school may set as deemed necessary. The short-listed candidates will be called for an interview, supplemented by a written test, if necessary, for the admission. 

Important Dates

• Date for filling up online application: 15^th Oct, 2015 to 06^th Nov, 2015.
• Last date for receiving hard copy of application forms: 13^th Nov, 2015.
• Date of uploading the list of short-listed candidates: 24^th Nov, 2015.
• Date of test and interview: 14^th Dec, 2015 to 16^th Dec, 2015.
