National Institute of Technology (NIT), Goa Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D Programs 2015

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program in Engineering and Technology and Humanities & Sciences for 2015-16. 

Eligibility Conditions

For Ph.D in Engineering and Technology

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline with a minimum 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale grading system or 60% marks in both bachelor’s and master’s levels from recognized technical Institute or University. (Minimum 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale grading system or 55% marks for SC/ST candidates).
• Candidates will be considered for Ph.D. program on the basis of GATE score.

For Ph.D in Humanities and Sciences

• Master’s degree in Sciences or Humanities / M. Tech in the relevant area with a minimum 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale grading system or 60% marks in both bachelor’s and master’s levels from recognized Institute or University. (Minimum 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale grading system or 55% marks for SC/ST candidates).
• Candidates will be considered for Ph.D. program on the basis of GATE score or CSIR/NBHM/UGC-NET qualified.

• Applications form, duly filled in, must contain a crossed demand draft of Rs.500/- for General / OBC and Rs.300/- for SC / ST candidates.
  
  
• The DD should be drawn in favour of Director NIT Goa payable at Ponda, Goa and should reach, NIT Goa 403401.
  
  
• The envelope containing the application should be superscribed “Application for full-time Ph.D. Program (Even semester 2015-16) in Department of ________”

Selection Procedure

• Overall academic performance and written test (fixed by the Institute)
• Performance in Interview conducted by the respective department 

Important Dates

• Last date for receipt of application form: 13^th Nov, 2015.
• Date of interview at NIT Goa: 27^th Nov, 2015.
• Date of announcement of Results: 30^th Nov, 2015.
