Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU), Chennai Invites Applications for Admission into Distance B.Ed Program 2016

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into following distance programmes for the session January 2016. 

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Tamil
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in English
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Mathematics
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Science
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Social Science
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Computer Science
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Commerce
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Economics 

Eligibility Conditions

• The candidates should have passed the UG degree examination in 11+1+3 or 10+2+3 stream.
  
  
• Trained In-service teachers with D.T.Ed. in any Government recognized school within Tamil Nadu state.
  
  
• The candidates who have completed a NCTE recognized teacher education program through face-to-face mode are eligible to apply.

How to Apply

• The cost of application form is Rs.500/-.
  
  
• The application form can be obtained either in person or by post.
  
  
• The application form and prospectus can be directly obtained in person either from the University Head Office or University Zonal Centres or B.Ed. Program Study Centres by way of Cash or Demand Draft for Rs.500/- drawn in favour of “Tamil Nadu Open University” payable at Chennai.
  
  
• Those who wish to get the application form and prospectus by post should send a demand draft for Rs.550/- drawn in favour of Tamil Nadu Open University payable at Chennai to The Registrar, Tamil Nadu Open University, 577 Anna Salai, Saidapet, Chennai-600015.
  
  
• Candidates should write the following details on the back side of the demand draft in capital letters: Name of the applicant, Program: B.Ed and Address with phone number.

Selection Procedure

• Selection for admission into B.Ed and allotment of study centres will be made only based on the marks obtained in the UG degree (rank list), other preference criteria and also following the community reservation policy of Government of Tamil Nadu. 

Important Dates

• Last date for issue of application and prospectus: 30^th Nov, 2015.
• Last date for the submission of filled-in application forms: 30^th Nov, 2015.
• Announcement of admission Results: 11^th Dec, 2015.
• Starting date of B.Ed admission counseling:  January 2016.
