National Institute of Technology, Meghalaya (NIT-M), Shillong Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D Programs 2016

Applications are invited from eligilbe candidates for admission into following program for January 2016. 

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Computer Science & Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Electrical Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mechanical Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Civil Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mathematics
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Chemistry 

Eligibility Conditions

• Master’s degree in appropriate branch of Engineering/ Science/ Technology/ Management Sciences/ or master’s degree in the allied subjects with consistently good academic record and a minimum of 60% marks) or an equivalent CGPA in the master’s degree.
  
  
• Candidates with B.E/ B.Tech with an aggregate of 75% marks or equivalent GPA with valid GATE score will also be eligible.
  
  
• For those applying for Ph. D in Humanities and Social Sciences, min 55% marks should have been obtained in the master’s degree.

• Application fee is Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST) by Demand Draft in favour of “NIT Meghalaya” payable at Shillong.

Selection Procedure

• Candidates will be required to appear for a written test on topics in his/ her discipline. Shortlisted candidates based on performance in the written test will be called for interview for the final selection.
