National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D 2016

Applications are invited from eligilbe candidates for admission into following programe for the session 2016. 

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Civil Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mechanical Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Electrical Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Production Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Chemical Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mathematics
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Physics
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Chemistry 

Eligibility Conditions

For Ph.D in Engineering Programs

• Master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 or equivalent (60% of marks).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology with an excellent academic record and with a CGPA of at least 9.0 out of 10 or equivalent (85% of marks). Candidates must have valid GATE score.
• Candidates for admission in Ph.D program in Science Departments must have a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a CGPA of at least 6.0 out of 10 or equivalent (55% of marks).

• Application fee of Rs.500/- (for OP and OB candidates) and Rs.300/- (for SC and ST candidates) should be paid.

Selection Procedure

• The short-listed candidates will be required to report for interview (written/ oral) to the concerned department.
• Selection will be made on the basis of performance of the candidates in the test / interview and availability of seats. 

Important Dates

• Last date of submission of application: 28^th Dec, 2015.
• Announcement of short listed eligible candidates: 05^th Jan, 2016.
• Date of interview/ written test: 08^th Jan, 2016.
• Date of publication of the names of selected candidates: 15^th Jan, 2016.
